      Critics Consensus

A smart, oddball take on found-footage horror, Creep is clever and well-acted enough to keep viewers on the edges of their seats.

Jason Bailey Flavorwire Within its commercial framework, they're taking real chances - and 'Creep' is, in many ways, a puzzling character study in a found-footage horror movie's clothing. May 27, 2016 Full Review Simon Abrams Village Voice Duplass's fantastically unhinged performance establishes what Brice fails to convey ... Sep 2, 2015 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times The film is remarkable, considering its minimal means and surprising lack of bloodshed, given the genre. Does it stay with you? A little. Sep 1, 2015 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review It’s among the funniest and scariest horror-comedies of this century, blending mumblegore independence with a found footage aesthetic to create a destabilizing, unforgettable experience. Rated: 4/4 Oct 26, 2023 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh Anchored entirely by the likability of Duplass, one of the few horror-comedies that will keep you questioning the authenticity of whether to be disturbed or delighted by what you're seeing unfold. Rated: 4/5 Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Jordan Brooks Vague Visages An interesting, indie-minded horror, Creep’s simplicity adds to its effectiveness as a taught, jarring film. Five Word R The tension building is amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review Nick N Most original entertaining dark comedy horror movie I’ve ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Catherine F good movie...wish they porked tho :/ Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Jason E Highly recommend for horror fans, very refreshing film in an increasingly stale genre. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/25/24 Full Review Movie G This movie is great! As all horror movies this one needs to be watched on high volume with the curtains drawn and when it's dark outside! If all of those factors apply this is an amazing horror move. I've gotten bored of horror movies since all now feel so deatatched from reality and as if they never could happen, but this movie explores a more "likley scenario to happen". This movie has some good jumpscares and it will probably make you feel unsafe even in your own home. 10/10 one of my favourite movie o.a.t! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Chris H Feeble plot, very dull, utterly ridiculous that the bad guy hasn't been caught. I would say just don't bother, but the end has just a tiny bit of theatre about it and it stays in the mind. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
